Despite the ban on international travel globally as result of COVID-19 pandemic, former President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, travelled to Mali.
Jonathan clarified that he was on a diplomatic mission to Mali.
He revealed this via his Twitter, which he sounded optimistic on the outcome of the assignment.
He wrote via his verified Twitter Handle,”I arrived in Bamako Wednesday evening with my delegation to begin my assignment as leader of @ecowas_cedeao peace mission to Mali. “I’m optimistic that our mission will yield positive results. Our message of peace and progress has so far been well received by stakeholders.”
Mali recorded its first case of COVID-19 on March 25, 2020. The country has so far recorded over 2500 positive cases with over 100 deaths.
