Epe (Lagos State), The Medical Director of General Hospital, Epe, Dr. Bamidele Mustapha, has appealed to the prominent individuals in Epe to support the hospital in whatever capacity they can to Improve on the healthcare facilities for patients.
Dr Bamidele made this appeal during the official unveiling event of the entrance Signpost provided for the hospital by Barr. Tunde Seriki, which was Facilitated by the Concern Nation Builders Initiative (CNI).
He pointed out poor electricity supply as a major challenge in the hospital.
He added that the generator available is in dilapidated state but if a 250 to 500 KVA generator can be provided it will boost medical services delivery in the hospital.
Dr. Bamidele who commended Barr. Seriki for giving the hospital a facelift with the provision of the Signpost, as described CNI as a Partner in progress and was optimistic that the Lagos state government will soon Commission a Mother and Child Centre in the hospital whichh will pave way for more service delivery.
While speaking at the event, the donor of the Signpost, Barr. Tunde Seriki, said that the hospital has been existing before many of them were born and the best they can do is to improve on its structure and that has begun with the erection of the Signpost and many more capital project will be done in earnest.
He promised to mobilize prominent people to find a lasting solution to the power challenge in the hospital and to also embark on its structural improvement.
Seriki lauded the performance of Dr. Bamidele, adding that he is very hardworking and whenever is called upon for emergency needs he will responds immediately.
While speaking on the purpose of getting Signpost for the hospital entrance gate, the CNI Coordinator, Comrade Idris Tele-Olukoya, revealed that since 1954 that the hospital was established, signpost had been absent there and the organisationonon deem it fit to erect it for easy identification of the hospital.
“This is part of the nongovernment organisation goals of giving back to the society in there little capacity.
“The organisation core values are Community Development Advocacy, Human Capacity Building and Advocacy for Good Governance.
“In order to tackle major challenges in the society, organisation should always engage in Corporate Social Responsibility to complement government’s efforts, the government cannot do it alone, It requires public, private partnership, ” he said.
Tele-Olukoya noted that the NGO will not relent in it efforts until Epe Division, Lagos State and Nigeria at large is evolved.
The CNI Coordinator commended Barr. Seriki and the Management of the hospital for their encouragement and support.
He also urged the prominent Son’s and Daughters of Epe in the corridor of power to look for a way to contribute their own quotas to the community evolution.
