Lagos lawmaker distribute educational materials, commission borehole, ICT centre worth millions in Epe
Mr Abiodun Tobun, Member, Lagos house of assembly, representing Epe constituency 1, has distributed thousands of exercisesese books, school bags and uniform to students across public primary schools in Epe community and also commissioned Information Communication Technology(ICT) centre and borehole project in its constituency.
Tobun disclosed this while commissioning the million worth of projects on Wednesday, in Epe, Lagos state.
He said that the gestures was to give back to the constituency that voted for him and for them to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
According to him, the infrastructure facilities provided was a necessity and It’s incumbents of him to provide the constituency and it people with the basic amenities needed to ameliorate their hardship in the ancient community.
“Today, I have commissioned ICT centre, borehole and also distributed exercise books for students across the Epe community.
“It is my mandate to provide the basic amenities needed for my people in the constituency for them to enjoy dividend of democracy.
“I will continue to put a smile on my people’s faces as they have entrusted me with their votes and I will not disappoint them.
“Government is continum, I will make sure I continue to discharge my mandate effectively beyond 2023, ” he said.
Tobun mentioned the areas where the infrastructures are commissioned which include; Bolehole installed at Oluwo fish market, ICT centre at Odo-Obara high school and distributions of exercise books, bags and uniforms across public primary schools in Epe community.
He added that the facilities in the ICT centre include; computers, internet service, training rooms, administrative department and ICT room. The capacity of the ICT centre can occupied 100 students.
“This is to make the student to have access to internet facilities at this digital age we are and also to be acquainted with advancement in Technology-know-how.
“I urge the teachers to maintain, manage and utilise the facilities effectively for knowledge growth of the students and to ensure the students make use of the facilities to carryout research online and offline, ” he said.
Tobun said that the borehole was to provide water system for the market women and men for their consumption and for other purposes.
He noted that the note books distributed was to support the parents to provide the needed materials for their wards in schools.
The lawmaker appreciated stakeholders and party faithfull support for him and their also acknowledged their cooperation. I will continue to strengthen the relationship and discharge my mandate as expected.
Tobun commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the ongoing road construction projects in Epe/Ibeju lekki expressway and his approval for construction of 450 capacity of Epe jetty terminalll, which would commence soonest.
“On behalf If the good people of Epe, we say a big thank you for your kind gestures towards infrastructure development in Epe Division.
“As Oliver twist, We harps for more dividend of democracy, we crave for more developmental projects in Epe Division, ” he said.
Mrs Afolashade Adefisan, Commissioner, Lagos Ministry of Education, commended the lawmaker laudable projects and advised the pupils and teachers to effectively utilised the ICT centre to enhance their teaching and learning.
Also, Ms Surah Animashaun, Chairman, Epe local government appreciated the lawmaker for his love for the people of Epe community and for the good work doing across Epe constituency 1.
She commended the good work carried out by the lawmaker in projecting Epe positively to the larger society.
“May God continue to strengthen you sir and enlarge your coast and also give you the strength to do more for the people of Epe community, ” she said.
Earlier, Mr Akanni Seriki-Bamu, Epe Apex Leader and a member of Governor’s Advisory Council(GAC), representing Epe Division, applauded the efforts of the lawmaker for his laudable constituency projects done across the community.
Akanni-Seriki expressed positivity that Epe would witnessed and enjoy more dividend of democracy under this present administration.
