Sonia Ekweremadu, daughter of the former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has appealed to any Nigerian to assist her with a kidney donation.
It was earlier reported that the 60-year-old senator and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka, were arrested by the British police on June 23 on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violates the country’s Modern Slavery Act.
Metropolitan police had accused the lawmaker of conspiring to bring a child to the United Kingdom for organ harvesting, saying the victim is a 15-year-old boy.
On Monday, Sonia who has been diagnosed with kidney disease for three years, via her Instagram page appealed to Nigerians to donate kidney to help her survive. She pleaded with anyone who is touched to donate a kidney for her, to do so in the name of God.
The young lady who also revealed her age as 25 promised to use her life to help people who have kidney problems when she finally gets a new kidney.
