Mr Abdulateef Oladipo, the Former Chief Imams of Epe Central Mosque, has urged the Federal Government to revive “Operation Feed The Nation” for economic prosperity.
Oladipo made the plea during and interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Epe, on Sunday.
He said that the development became necessary in order for tiers of government to be independent of one another.
According to him, all State should set up a farm settlement where agriculture farming business would take place.
“If this development is resuscitated, It will help each state to be able to feed his citizens within the state.
“This idea is sustainable because it will make each state to be independent of one another and food will be surplus in the society.
“It will encourage duopoly and discourage monopoly of businesses, ” he said.
The Clergyman said that the food palliative food distribution agenda’s by the government was not sustainable.
He added that the ones in a while food sharing cannot solve the hunger challenges of the citizens.
“The government should scale up the ministry of agriculture budget, encourages young farmers with attractive incentives and urged state government to have a massive farm settlement where agricultural business will be functioning, ” he said.
Oladipo appealed to the Nigeria protesters to suspend the national protest and give this present administration more time for its economic policies to manifest.
“As a cleric, I so much believe in Tinubu led administration because I and following up its economic reform and policies.
“The policies might look tough, the economic reform is not favourable for Nigeria and Nigeriana but at the end we will all smile, ” he said.
He added that peaceful resolution and dialogue would do us go as a citizens than to resort into violence and destruction.
