Flamboyant politician, Senator Dino Melaye, has reacted to the alleged arrest of Raymond Igbalodely, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
Reacting, the Kogi state politician posted on his Instagram wall: “When God makes you happy, no one can make you sad”
The post came hours after the new of Hushpuppi arrest broke.
Many had waited to hear his voice on the arrest of the instagram celebrity considering the level of intimacy between the duo, but the former lawmaker seemed to be much more concerned about his political career that is presently facing difficulty .
When the going was good for Hushpuppi, both were always seen displaying wealth on social media and at outings.
A lot of people had questioned the closeness between the duo considering Hushpuppi’s questionable wealth and their age difference, but the politician seemed not to give a hoot.
The 32 year-old socialite has once described Melaye as his favourite senator.
According to report, Hushpuppi was allegedly arrested by the Federal Bureau of Intelligence(FBI) and the International Police in Dubai.
He was picked up together with his friend, Woodberry.
Their arrest was based on the account of money laundering after some cases of fraud was linked to them.
Unconfirmed report said that they were allegedly involved in fraud and money laundering of over $100million stimulus money meant for Native Americans and $35 million ventilator money.
Before his arrest, his last post on Sunday reads: “May success and prosperity not be a “once upon a time” story in your life… Thank you lord for the many blessings in my life. continue to shame those waiting for me to be shamed.”
