The late Senator Abiola Ajimobi will be buried today in his Ibadan hometown.
Sources said he will be laid to rest in his Oluyole Estate home on Friday afternoon.
The elder statesman was pronounced dead yesterday after he reportedly battled undisclosed ailment.
He died at a Lagos based First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital,the same hospital where the late Chief of Staff , Abba Kyari died.
Sources said that medical personnel in the facility battled hard to save his life but he never made it.
He was said to have been on a life support machine since last Friday before he was pronounced dead yesterday.
Although, unconfirmed reports claimed that Ajimobi was long dead before yesterday’s formal announcement.
A close source was quoted to have said that the news of his death was kept away from the public as a result of recent political developments in the country and the All Progressive Congress,APC, party in particular .
Meanwhile, tributes have started pouring in for the late politician whom many described as being loyal and courageous.
Mourning the late politician, President Muhammadu Buhari said his contributions to the development of the state and nation, will always be remembered.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adeshina said: “The President commiserates with the family of the former governor, who served the country as a Senator, 2003, before winning the governorship election in 2011, remaining steadfast and consistent in his progressive views, and working assiduously for the creation of the All Progressives Congress.
“As the party chieftain bows out, President Buhari believes he left the world at a crucial moment when the party and the country needed his counsels to heal and grow, noting that his absence will be sorely felt by all associates, particularly in the APC.”
