As Nigeria observed its Children’s Day today, the All Progressive Congress(APC), Chairmanship aspirant, in Eredo local council development area has restated his commitment to children, most especially in the area of health.
According to him, the children health care scheme would be his utmost priority, If elected as the Chairman of the council.
Olukoya disclosed this during his flag-off campaign in Eredo, on Thursday.
He said that the children of today, would be the parents tomorrow.
“We need to take there health care seriously, for them to become a healthy citizen tomorrow,” he said.
Olukoya said that the health scheme development became necessary so as to cushion the financial burden of some parents.
“I will prioritise the health scheme program to ease the burden of the parents.
“Some parents don’t have enough money to pay for their child/children hospital bills, this are part of my agendas to cushion such effect, ” he said.
The aspirant mentioned some of his developmental plans for the council as; vocational programs for indigenes, health care scheme for adults and children.
Ithers include; Agricultural empowerment, local tourism development, improvement in education sector, good road network projects, good government, religion harmony, peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups and infrastructural development.
He said that the aforementioned developmental initiative cannot be achieved alone, It requires the cooperations of the people and other relevant stakeholders.
“I am a man of the people, for the people and by the people. A grassroots man.
“I know what my people wanted and I will make sure I provide succour to them where necessary, ” he said.
“Politics is not a do or die affair, It is a matter of loose or win, therefore, voters should maintain peaceful atmosphere and shun any form of violence, ” he said.
Olukoya urged all party faithful to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the forthcoming APC primary election on May 29th.
