A two-time commissioner in Lagos State, Dr. Olusegun Oluwatoberu Ogundimu has been pronounced dead.
The demise of the former Lagos commissioner was disclosed via a statement by his son, Oluwadamilola Ogundimu, on Saturday.
Ogundimu died at the age of 71.
The family, in the statement, described Ogundimu as a “strong advocate of democratic governance aimed at promoting healthcare development in the country”, noting that the late medical doctor and former Commissioner would be buried on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in Lagos.
Olusegun Ogundimu as a commissioner during the military regime of Buba Marwa, embarked on numerous health programmes that promoted the healthcare delivery system in Lagos State, particularly for the benefit of the people at the grassroots.
He was appointed a member of the Lagos State Hospital Inspectorate Committee in 1985.
Ogundimu was also appointed as the Chairman of Lagos State Water Corporation in 1992–1994.
