The Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele has allegedly flouted the Federal Government travel restriction order by flying his wife and children to the United Kingdom, despite closure of the Nigerian airspace.
SaharaReporters reported that the Apex bank chief flew his family via by Executive Jet Services, the same airline that flown Naira Marley to a controversial concert in Abuja.
The publication claimed that the airline is being operated by Dangote and Sam Iwajoku.
The manifest of the jet obtained by the site had the names:Mrs Margaret Emefiele, Godwin Pammichukwu Jnr. and Andrew Olisehike Emefiele, which were traced to the Governor.
It was further reported that the CBN governor is believed to have flown his family out of harm’s way or back to school in the UK or beyond as the flight was clearly a non-essential one.
The allegation against the Emefiele is coming about the same time when Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley ,violated the closure of the Nigerian airspace order by travelling from Lagos to Abuja to perform in a crowded concert.
The Federal government recently closed the airspace as part of efforts to contain the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
It however permitted essential travels by air across the country.
