None of the children were seriously hurt in the incident in the North Island town on Wednesday, police said, but some were being treated for minor injuries.

The bus driver, a woman, died at the scene, said Snr Sgt Phil Ward.
The total number of children on the bus was still unclear, a police statement said, but local media reported that about 40 people – including students from Feilding high school – were assessed by ambulance officers at the scene.
Several children were wrapped in blankets and were receiving medical care at the site in Bunnythorpe, near the region’s major city, Palmerston North, news reports added.
KiwiRail told Radio New Zealand that the train driver was physically unharmed.
