Epe(Lagos State), Hon. Wale Raji, Member, Federal house of representative, representing Epe federal constituency, said that several millions of naira has been earmarked in the 2022 budget to upgrade Epe fish market and also to build market stores at Ilara, ketu and aiyetoro communities in Epe Division.

Raji told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview in Epe, on Sunday.

He said that the expenditure has been included in the 2022 constituency budget to accomplish the aforementioned projects.

According to him, part of the funds would be used to facelifts Epe fish market to standard and also to build a modern market at Ilara, ketu and Itoikin area of Epe federal constituency.

He said that the highlighted projects are basic necessity need of the people in that community but the Itoikin market scheme has begun.

“Residents has been clamouring for the facelifting of the heritage Epe fish market to international standard, which I am ready to do now.

“Also, Ilara community are in need of market stores, which I will equally provide for the community and also provide the market stores at Itoikin and ketu neighborhood.

“This are communities under my constituency and I am ready to provide for there basic necessity needs for them to benefits from the dividend of democracy and good governancee which I have brought to them, ” he said.

Raji said that the market stores would be given to the market women and men for free without paying for rent.

He added that the occupants would only be paying rate (ticket) for the local government, as part of revenue to boost the council revenue earnings.

“The idea is to ease the market women and men from paying for shop rent burden.

“Also to boost the socioeconomic status of Epe community and also to boost council revenue base and to support the market traders, ” he said.

The lawmaker said that these and many more were the projects on the pipeline for the constituency.

He mentioned some of his executed projects as; monthly cash grant for the elderly, employment of youths, sponsoring of several implemented bills, building of blocks of 6 classrooms for students in public schools among several others.

Raji said that there are other several innovative projects set aside for the constituency development.
