Heeding to the directive of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Akwa Ibom State, journalists have resolved to boycott a press conference planned for former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who is presently in the state.
In a statement on Friday, the chapter directed all journalists not to attend any activity organised by the former minister.
Fani-Kayode has come under heavy criticism following a verbal assault on Daily Trust journalist, Eyo Charles, whom he called “stupid” during a press conference in Calabar, Cross River State.
The journalist asked Fani-Kayode, who bankrolled his recent tour to some Southern states.
The question angered the former minister who lambasted the journalists.
This has since been condemned by different quarters.
He has since apologised for his comment.
