Adekunle Adeyemo, the CEO of AAJ Group and co-founder of Pillsfield Pharmacy, has been honoured with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity by the West Africa Youth Council on March 17th, 2023.
This prestigious award recognizes Adekunle Adeyemo’s outstanding achievements as a prominent young personality, an entrepreneur of note, and a leader with a passion for youth development and social development.
Adekunle Adeyemo, a Nigerian born in Ibadan Oyo State in September 1986, had his primary education at Ronk New Age Nur./Pri. School Akobo Ibadan, and further went to GOFAMICH SCHOOL OJO IBADAN for secondary education. He studied Physics at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta and went ahead to grab a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Technology at the National Open University of Nigeria due to his love for technology.
As the CEO of AAJ Group, Adekunle Adeyemo leads a holding company with interests in key sectors of Nigeria’s economy such as procurement logistics, e-commerce logistics, courier service, freight forwarding and clearing, and media and advertising. His leadership has led to the employment of over 60 employees with an average age of 25 years old.
Adekunle Adeyemo’s entrepreneurial spirit also led him to co-found Pillsfield Pharmacy, a pharmaceutical retail store in Nigeria.
The West Africa Youth Council’s decision to award Adekunle Adeyemo with an ambassadorial title is a testament to his dedication to excellence and integrity in all his endeavours. This award is not only a recognition of his remarkable achievements, but also an inspiration to the youth of West Africa.
On receiving the award, Adekunle Adeyemo expressed his gratitude to the West Africa Youth Council and dedicated the award to the youth of Nigeria and West Africa. He also reiterated his commitment to youth development and social development, promising to continue to lead by example.
